Cultural Diversity Shines at Gathering

Fond du Lac, WI - Celebrate commUNITY drew its largest crowd ever for its 10th annual opening ceremonies February 18 at the fairgrounds. The city’s key multicultural event kicked off with the powerful percussions of the Gordon Williams Gii Taa’se Brothertown Indian Singers and Dancers, followed by a presentation of flags.

Ethnic foods and flavors, dance groups, games and crafts lured thousands of people throughout the day as temperatures peaked at an unseasonably warm 60 degrees. 

People have the wrong image of the small, Arab country of Kuwait and especially the Muslim religion, said another exchange student, Nada Alawadhi. She believes m any Americans have the wrong impression of her country of Kuwait, a small Arab nation on the Persian Gulf with a cultural heritage dating back to antiquity. Read more.
