El Nino and Flooding in Peru
In Laudato Si’, Pope Francis speaks repeatedly about the devastating effects of climate change and its impact on those who are most vulnerable, those who live in poverty. El Niño is causing torrential rains in Peru’s coastal regions with widespread flooding and mudslides. At least 78 people have lost their lives with untold damage to property, displacement of 100,000 people.
